Welcome to AI at Wake Forest. For nearly two centuries, our motto, Pro Humanitate, has called us to put our knowledge and talents to work for humanity. That commitment shapes how we approach artificial intelligence, with curiosity and with care.

AI is changing how we teach, learn, research and work. Used thoughtfully, it can deepen learning, open new paths for creativity and discovery, and make our work more accessible. Used carelessly, it can spread errors, reinforce bias, compromise privacy and shortcut the hard thinking that education depends on. Members of our community hold a wide range of views about this technology, and those perspectives, including skepticism and concern, are essential to getting it right.

This site is your starting point for resources, support and guidance. We invite you to bring your questions, your experience and your concerns as we work together to make sure this technology serves people, and not the other way around.

Join the Conversation: Survey on AI in Teaching, Research, and Work

The Provost’s Office, Information Systems, the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, and the Center for Analytics invite faculty and staff to participate in a brief, confidential survey about AI attitudes, teaching practices, workplace applications, research practices, learning experiences, and usage patterns on campus. Our goal is to better understand our community’s experience and usage of generative AI tools and how we can support AI integration across campus. Look for a survey link from “Provost Office (AI Initiative)” in your email.
